    Hand-drawn bows and botanical sprigs in deep raspberry on a pale linen ground, in the manner of a French toile. Single-colour line work is the oldest trick in decorative printing for a reason: it gives you detail up close and calm from across the room, and it sits against wood, cane and white paint without argument. The deep raspberry keeps it from reading as a baby pink.

    Where to start if you don't want everything: the crib sheet and a rug do most of the visual work in a baby room. Add the blanket and pillow to soften it, and the hooded towel if you want bath time to match too.
