Where most nursery patterns get outgrown around two, a space room keeps working right through the years when a child actually starts asking about planets. Ours keeps the palette in muted navy, sage, clay and cream rather than primary red and blue, so it reads as a designed room rather than a toy box.
Building the room
Start with the rug and crib sheet, then add the blanket and pillow. Space works especially well with white or pale wood furniture, which lets the graphic elements carry the room.

No. Space is frequently chosen as a gender neutral theme, particularly in muted palettes. Rockets and planets carry no inherent gender, and our colourways stay in navy, sage and clay rather than primary brights.
