Collection: Baby Blankets

Soft minky baby blankets at 30" x 40" — the standard baby blanket size. Big enough for the pram, the car seat and floor time, small enough to stay a baby blanket rather than becoming a throw.

Each one is printed edge to edge in one of our nursery themes, so it matches the crib sheet, rug and pillow in the same room instead of fighting with them. The minky face is plush and heavy enough to drape properly, which is what makes a blanket feel like a keepsake rather than a layer of fabric.

Choosing a baby blanket

Most parents need two: one in use and one in the wash. If you are buying a single blanket, the 30 x 40 minky is the most versatile size — it works from newborn through toddler, in the pram, the car seat and on the floor.

Common questions

What size is a baby blanket?

The standard baby blanket size is around 30" x 40". Smaller loveys run about 12" square, while toddler blankets go up to roughly 40" x 60". Our minky blankets are 30" x 40".

When can a baby sleep with a blanket?

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping loose blankets, pillows and soft objects out of the crib until at least 12 months. Before then, a blanket is best used for the pram, the car seat and supervised floor time.

How do I wash a minky blanket?

Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Avoid fabric softener, which coats and flattens the minky pile over time. Washing cold on the first cycle also keeps the print colour sharp.

Is minky better than fleece?

Minky has a longer, denser pile than standard fleece, so it drapes better and feels more substantial. It also holds printed colour more richly, which matters for detailed nursery patterns.

Are these blankets machine washable?

Yes. Every blanket is machine washable, which is not optional in a nursery.
