Collection: Nursery Rugs

Washable nursery rugs in round and rectangular shapes. The rug anchors a baby room — it is the first thing that makes a bedroom read as a nursery, and it is where most of the first year actually happens: tummy time, rolling, crawling, and eventually the reading corner.

Soft underfoot with a non-slip backing, and genuinely machine washable, which matters more here than anywhere else in the house.

Round or rectangular?

Round rugs suit smaller nurseries and rooms full of straight lines. They sit well under a crib or beside a glider and soften a space without dominating it. Rectangular rugs cover more floor, work better as a defined play area, and suit rooms with a full furniture arrangement to sit around.

Common questions

What size rug do I need for a nursery?

For most nurseries a rug that extends at least 18" beyond the crib on the open sides gives a usable play area. In small rooms a round rug of about 4 to 5 feet is usually enough; larger rooms suit a rectangular rug of 5' x 7' or more.

Are nursery rugs washable?

Yes. Ours are machine washable, which is the single most useful feature a rug in a baby room can have.

Are they non-slip?

Each rug has a non-slip backing. On very smooth floors, a separate rug pad adds extra grip once a baby starts crawling and pulling up.

Is a rug safe for a baby to lie on?

Rugs are ideal for supervised tummy time and floor play. They are not a sleep surface — babies should sleep on a firm, flat crib mattress.

Will the rug match my crib sheet?

Yes, within a theme. Every rug is printed from the same artwork as the matching crib sheet, blanket, pillow and towel.
