    Hand-painted cream dots, no two the same shape, scattered across a soft sage green ground. This is the set for a room that already has a lot going on — a gallery wall, a patterned curtain, a wooden crib with grain worth looking at. The dots read as texture from a distance rather than as a picture, so everything else in the room gets to keep its own voice. It is also the print that ages best: there is nothing babyish in it to grow out of.

    Where to start if you don't want everything: the crib sheet and a rug do most of the visual work in a baby room. Add the blanket and pillow to soften it, and the hooded towel if you want bath time to match too.
