    Ochre sunflowers, white daisies, sage leaves, seed heads and small arched rainbows scattered close together on a warm oat ground. It is a busy print that somehow stays quiet, because everything in it sits within a hand's width of the same tone — from the doorway it reads as texture, and only up close does it become flowers and rainbows. That makes it the set for a room that needs one thing doing a lot of work.

    Where to start if you don't want everything: the crib sheet and a rug do most of the visual work in a baby room. The oat ground is the practical argument for the rug here — a pale nursery floor shows everything, and this one doesn't.
